Junior Achievement of East Central Ohio (Canton) to Unite with Junior Achievement of North Central Ohio (Akron)
Junior Achievement of East Central Ohio (JA Canton), will merge with Junior Achievement of North Central Ohio (JA Akron), effective July 1, 2019. The two Junior Achievement offices will reach a combined 38,700 students during 2018-2019 in fifteen counties. The collaboration will allow the combined offices, named Junior Achievement of North Central Ohio, to leverage relationships with donors and educators, and to increase their impact in the Akron/Canton area.
Todd Hawke, current board chairman of JA Canton, said, "This merger is a wise business decision as it will allow both offices to join their resources. It will ultimately benefit the young people in our community by giving more students access to JA's work readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy programs." Brian Steere, current board chairman of JA Akron, added "One of the first tasks of the combined board is to identify a president for the organization. The search process is underway. To learn more, visit the JA Akron or JA Canton websites."
The Junior Achievement office will be located in the current JA Canton facility located at 4353 Executive Circle N.W., North Canton, OH 44718.
